1. Purpose
Reviews on this platform exist so that someone deciding whether a course is useful to them can read the experience of people who already took it. They only serve that purpose if they are credible, and they are only credible if the reader knows exactly under which rules they get published.
This policy describes those rules. It is not a statement of intent: it describes how the system actually works, and the commitments stated here are implemented in the platform itself.
2. Who Can Write a Review
Only someone enrolled in a course who has watched at least 70% of its content can rate it. There is no way to publish a review without having taken the material: reviews from visitors, from accounts without an enrollment, or from people below that progress are not accepted.
The threshold is high on purpose. An opinion written during the first lesson does not describe the course, it describes a first impression; and someone who quit halfway through rarely knows whether what they were looking for was answered later.
How the access was obtained makes no difference: someone who bought the course themselves and someone who received a seat from their company have exactly the same right to review it. An expired access window does not prevent writing a review either.
- One review per person and course.
- The rating runs from half a star to five, in half stars: 3.5 or 4.5 are valid values.
- It can be corrected within 30 days of writing it; after that it is fixed.
- The written comment is optional: a rating with stars only is fine.
3. Publication and Moderation
Reviews are published automatically. There is no prior approval deciding which ones are shown and which are not.
As an exception, a review is held for human review when its text contains any of the elements listed below. That review is limited to checking that point: if the text breaks none of those rules, it is published, whatever rating comes with it.
- Contact details: email addresses, phone numbers or social media handles.
- Links or website addresses.
- Offensive language or insults.
- Text with no content: repeated characters, the same word repeated, and the like.
4. What We Never Do
The following commitments are the core of this policy and admit no exception:
- We do not hold back, hide or delay a review because of its rating. The system that decides whether a review needs checking has no access to the stars that come with it: it only analyses the text.
- We do not edit the text of a review. Not even to fix a typo. What is written belongs to whoever wrote it.
- We do not delete reviews. A review may stop being displayed (see the next section), but it is not erased.
- We do not publish reviews written by us, by a course instructor, or by anyone who has not taken the material.
- We do not pay for, gift or discount anything in exchange for a review, nor condition any benefit on the rating someone gives.
- We do not offer someone about to leave a bad rating a private channel to keep their opinion from being published. Their review is published all the same (see the section on private comments).
5. Withdrawing a Review
A published review may stop being displayed when it breaks the rules in “Publication and Moderation”, when it does not refer to the course it rates, when it contains third-party personal data, or when publishing it would be unlawful.
Withdrawing a review neither deletes nor modifies it: it stops appearing on the public page and stops counting towards the average rating, but it is kept intact in the account of whoever wrote it, marked as unpublished, and that person can rewrite it. A rewritten review goes through review again before being published.
Only the platform administrator can withdraw a review. The instructor who signs a course cannot withdraw, hide or modify reviews of their own courses, nor anyone else's.
Anyone who believes their review was withdrawn unfairly can write to hola@beiratraining.com and ask for it to be reviewed.
6. Instructor Reply
A course instructor may reply publicly to a review. The reply appears below it, identified with their name, and changes nothing about the original review or its rating.
That is the only action an instructor can take on the reviews of their courses.
7. Private Comments
When someone rates a course three stars or fewer, after publishing their review we ask them what went wrong and offer them a set of specific reasons and a free-text field. That answer is private: only the Beira Training team reads it and it is never published anywhere.
Answering is voluntary and changes nothing about the public review, which is already published at that point. The survey is there to fix the course, not to replace the criticism.
If what the person describes is something we can solve for them (a platform failure, an issue with their certificate), we offer to open it as a support ticket and follow up.
8. How the Rating Is Calculated
A course rating is the simple average of every published review of that course, with no weighting, selection or exclusion. Held or withdrawn reviews do not count, and they are the only ones that do not.
The average is shown to one decimal place and computed over the full scale, half stars included. The distribution chart groups ratings into five rows rounding up: a 3.5 shows in the four-star row.
While a course has fewer than five reviews we do not show an average rating, although the individual reviews are shown. An average built on one or two opinions informs nobody and disproportionately harms newly published courses.
Learning paths are not rated separately: their rating comes from the reviews of the courses that make them up, all added together. A course in the path with no reviews yet does not count as a low rating, it simply does not take part in the calculation.
9. Personal Data in Reviews
A published review shows the first name of whoever wrote it and the initial of their first surname, their profile picture if they have one, the date, and how much of the course they had watched when writing it. Their email address and any other contact details are not shown.
The name a review is signed with is fixed at the moment of writing. Changing the account name afterwards does not rewrite already published reviews.
A review is public content and can be indexed by search engines. We ask writers not to include personal data of their own or of third parties in the text; if they do, the review is held.
The processing of this data is governed by the Privacy Notice.
10. Changes
Beira Training may amend this Policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, bearing the date at its head. Changes materially affecting registered users will be communicated as provided in the Terms and Conditions.
Already published reviews are not reviewed retroactively when this Policy changes, unless the change is required by law.
11. Contact
To report a review that breaks this Policy, request a review of a withdrawn one, or for any related enquiry, write to hola@beiratraining.com. We reply within 10 business days at the latest.
